Dr. Ayyaz M. Shah
Consulting Dermatologist for HLCC®
As a consulting dermatologist for HLCC® specializing in hair loss among both men and women, Dr. Ayyaz M. Shah is a resource to the patients of HLCC®*, HLCC®-owned and affiliated locations, and to the medical staff and certified hair loss professionals. Dr. Shah is board certified in dermatology by the American Board of Physician Specialties, in laser surgery by the American Board of Laser Surgery, and in family practice by the American Osteopathic Association.
As founder and medical director of Global Dermatology Institute, Dr. Shah educates dermatologists and other healthcare professionals on hair loss, trichology and hair loss treatments. Additionally, he is a board member of the US Trichology Institute, assistant professor of dermatology at the University of Central Florida, president and clinical dermatologist of Shah Dermatology and Glamorous Skin Institute, and clinical dermatologist at Mid-Florida Dermatology Associates. He enjoys sharing his knowledge of trichology with the Aesthetic Association of Florida (AAFL) and with Empire Medical Training.
Following medical school at the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, Dr. Shah fulfilled his residency in family practice and then completed his training at the Advanced Dermatology and Laser Center at the University Medical Center. Dr. Shah was also a consultant dermatologist at five hospitals, including serving as a member of the Medical Executive Committee.
Dr. Sheila Calderon
Dr. Sheila Calderon is a highly-trained aesthetic doctor with more than 25 years of experience in several fields of medicine. With a special interest in hair loss, laser hair loss treatment and cosmetic dermatology, she is a terrific resource for HLCC® staff and clients. She has trained extensively in the use of many kinds of aesthetic lasers, and her expertise in hair loss and lasers inspired her to bring her Frisco, TX-based aesthetic practice to HLCC®.
Dr. Michael Albert, M.D.
Dr. Michael Albert* is an expert specializing in hair loss, laser hair loss treatment and cosmetic dermatology and has been with HLCC® for many years. Well-versed in many fields, he earned his M.D. from Albany Medical College, interning in the fields of surgery and OB/GYN. He completed a research fellowship in trauma surgery, and has served as resident doctor for anatomic and clinical pathology at University of Rochester-Strong Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Albert has researched endocrinology and cytogenetics at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and is now the chairman of pathology and medical director of laboratories at Buffalo Mercy Hospital. In addition, he is vice president of the New York State Society of Pathologists.
Dr. Albert has co-authored several research articles in the Journal of Steroid Biochemistry and Lasers in Medicine, as well as had a correspondence letter published in the New England Journal of Medicine. Dr. Albert is an expert on prescriptions and compound pharmaceuticals.
Dr. S. Michael Fuhrman
D.O., Medical Director*
Dr. S. Michael Fuhrman is a board-certified doctor with special interests in hair loss, laser hair loss treatment and cosmetic dermatology. He has a rich background in his field, with hair loss, family practice with clinical work in general medicine, psychiatry and cardiology. Dr. Fuhrman received his M.D. from New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and his postdoctoral work includes residency experience in general medicine, surgery, emergency pediatrics, ear, nose and throat, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, urology and pulmonology medicine.
Dr. Fuhrman holds certifications in ACLS and ATLS, and is presently an attending staff physician at St. Peter’s Hospital and owner/CEO of a both an aesthetic and an urgent care center in the Albany, NY area. Dr. Fuhrman preforms all medical consultations, procedures and medical services, etc. for HLCC, along with our R.N.. under his direction.
Germaine Williams-Beckles
Trichologist & Ethnic/Textured Hair Expert
Germaine Williams-Beckles is a qualified cosmetologist, Trichologist and Nutritionist with over 40 years of experience in Hair Care and Wellness Services. She is a proud member of the US Trichology Institute Board of Directors. Germaine holds a degree in the Science of Nutritional Consultations as well as a Holistic Health Practitioner certification from the American Association of Drugless Practitioners.
She is the founder of Rayogee Hair and Scalp Clinic, which specializes in providing solutions for hair styling and maintenance, hair loss, as well as delivering the latest therapies in wellness management.
Germaine recognizes the relationship between a healthy body and healthy hair. Her life’s goal is to help every client reconnect with the instinctive knowledge of what their body and hair require, achieving and maintaining optimal health through education, support and individualized treatment protocols to restore balance.
At Rayogee, the primary focus is to ensure that clients develop and maintain healthy hair from the inside out. Adopting a holistic approach to the maintenance of healthy hair, emphasis is placed on the client’s diet, exercise and other elements of his or her lifestyle.
Pearl Bailey-Anderson
Trichologist & Ethnic/Textured Hair Expert
Pearl Bailey-Anderson is a salon owner with a BS Degree in Trichology. She is a Certified US Trichology Institute Educator and a proud member of the board. With over 35 years in the beauty industry, Pearl is passionate about teaching other cosmetologists about hair care, scalp treatment, hair growing techniques and the diagnosis of disorders that prevent hair growth. She is currently working on her Doctorate degree and has been published in several cosmetology textbooks and training videos.
Pearl’s salon, La Pearl Beauty Emporium in Philadelphia, is a full service hair care center that focuses on hair and scalp health. Pearl has been instrumental in training and offering opportunities to cosmetologists and barbers in the Tri-state area, educating them on hair care, hair and scalp treatment, hair rejuvenation techniques and identifying disorders associated with hair care.
With over 30 years in the industry, Pearl Bailey-Anderson has a long resume of accomplishments and articles featuring her contributions to this field. As a textbook consultant and a featured demonstrator in both book and video, Pearl’s knowledge is included in the textbook, Milady Standard Comprehensive Training for Estheticians. She is also a Member of National Weavers Association, National Hair Society and National Hair Journal.
